The Atlanta Hawks are an American professional basketball team and a member of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Today, Hawks ticket demand is on the rise, this is due to their improving record in the Conference standings.
In 1946, the team was created and soon became a member of the National Basketball League, now known as the NBA. The team is based in Atlanta, Georgia. Hawks are member of the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference. In the merger of National Basketball League and Basketball Association of America, the team was the seventeenth of the original teams that joined.
The team is also noted for their marked rivalry with the Boston Celtics. This is partly due to the fact that the two teams have met four times in the NBA Finals in a span of four years (1957, 1958, 1960, and 1961).
Today the team remains as an Eastern Conference powerhouse defeating NBA teams with winning records in there respective conferences.
