Auburn Tigers are the group of varsity teams that represent Auburn University. The team is a member of the NCAA Division, particularly in the Southeastern Conference. The group has approximately 18 teams under 13 sports that include baseball, basketball, equestrian, cross-country, tennis, softball, volleyball, golf, swimming, diving, and gymnastics.
The teamís official colors are navy blue and burnt orange, and it is currently headed by Jay Jacobs as the overall athletics director. Since the teams compete with other colleges in the area, it has made use of some of Auburnís facilities for its home games. Jordan-Hare Stadium has been called the home of the football team, while the baseball team calls Plainsman Park as its home. The basketball team then plays its home games in the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum.
Like most teams, the Auburn Tigers also have close competition with its two rivals: The University of Georgia and the University of Alabama. The rivalry between Georgia and Auburn has been deemed as ìDeep Southís Oldest Rivalry,î which dates back to 1892.
