Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson is a musical written by Alex Timbers. Music and lyrics were written by Michael Friedman. The play is an irreverent musical based on the life of Andrew Jackson, the 7th President of the US. This Wild West musical depicts the former president as an Emo rock star.
The musical traces the life of Jackson ñ beginning with his life as a boy in a pastoral community. His family is murdered (a theatrical rendition considering that the real life family actually died in very different reasons on separate occasions).
He grows up attacked by the Indians and taunted by the British ñ thus, developing hatred to these two populations. He also meets Rachel, the love of his life who is married to another man. Jackson joins the military and becomes General Jackson. He forms the Democratic Party and eventually wins as president of the country on his second try.
As President, he got rid of the Indians he so hated by forcibly moving them west.
