Based in Boston, Massachusetts, the Boston Bruins are a professional Ice Hockey team in the National Hockey League (NHL). With their impressive records and their several Stanley Cup wins, Bruins games are becoming more and more popular.
The team belongs to the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference of the NHL. The franchise was founded in 1924 and became the first United States-based expansion team.
At present the Bruins have the second highest number of Stanley Cups. They have won five championships, the most of any American expansion team. The first ever Bruins game was held on December 1, 1924 versus the Montreal Maroons. They won that game, which was held in the Boston Arena.

In every season in the 21st Century, the Bruins improved their standings and in 2008 the team finished with a 41-29-12 record. They eventually made it to the 2008-2009 playoffs and managed to finish in 5th place.
