Brad Douglas Paisley was born on October 28, 1972 in Glen Dale, West Virginia, United States. He is an acclaimed American country music singer and songwriter as well as a virtuoso country guitarist. His first album entitled “Who Needs Pictures” was released in 1999 and has since then recorded six studio albums and a Christmas songs compilation under the Artist Nashville label. All of Paisley’s albums are certified gold or higher by the RIAA and he has even won a Grammy award.

Brad Paisley learned to play the guitar at age eight when it was given to him by his maternal grandfather. Paisley claims that his love for country music was influenced by his grandfather. At the age of twelve, Paisley wrote his first song and at the age of thirteen he was already an opening act for country singers including The Judds, Ricky Skaggs, and George Jones. Paisley studied at West Liberty College but was then offered a full-paid ASCAP scholarship to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. While he was in college, he met Frank Rogers who later on became his producer and Kelley Lovelace who became his songwriting partner. After Paisley graduated from Belmont, he signed a songwriting contract with EMI Music Publishing and wrote several top 5 hits.
Several months after his debut, he had first number one hit entitled “He Didn’t Have to Be”.

In 2000, Paisley was awarded the Country Music Association’s Horizon Award and the Academy of Country Music’s best new male vocalist trophy. A year later, he received his first Grammy Award nomination and in February of 2001, he was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. Since then, Paisley has been in several tours, has received several awards, and has been kept busy making hit after hit studio albums. To date, Paisley has charted twenty-four singles on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, fourteen of which have all reached the number one spot.
