Canadian Grand Prix, otherwise known as ìGrand Prix du Canada,î is a yearly auto race that was started in Canada in 1961. The race has been a part of the well known Formula One World Championship around 6 years since the race was create. The first time the race was staged was at Mosport Park in Ontario, Canada, however years later Circuit Mont-Tremblant became an alternate location, before it moved to its current home at Ile Notre-Dame.
The participants of the race go around the indicated course 70 times, and since 1961, the race was held yearly until 2009 when the race was not included in Formula 1's calendar. However, the race has been back on the calendar in 2010, taking place on the 13th of June.
The Canadian Grand Prix, many known names in the racing world have won titles more than once. Some of these drivers include Michael Schumacher with 7 wins, Nelson Piquet with 3 wins and Jackie Stewart, Alan Jones, and Pedro Rodriguez with 2 wins each.
