In was in the year 1937, that the team Cincinnati Bengals was formed and became a member of the American Football League. Like the other teams, The Bengals folded during the World War II. But after 26 years, in 1967 Paul Brown headed the Cincinnati based ownership group for the football team and he was granted a franchise in the American Football League.
