Based out of Denver, Colorado, the Colorado Avalanche are most known for being two time winners of the coveted Stanley Cup. As such, tickets to Colorado Avalanche games have long been highly in demand among fans.
Founded in 1972, the Avalanche is presently a part of the Northwestern Division in the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team’s franchise has its roots in Quebec where they were known there as the Quebec Nordiques. They moved to Colorado in 1994, a year later, they won their first Stanley. They are noted for being only the second team in NHL history to ever have won a Stanley the year following relocation.
Aside from their Stanley Cup wins, the Avalanche has also won eight division titles. They did surprisingly well for their first 10 seasons and went to the playoffs in each of those.
The team is also noted for their marked rivalry with the Detroit Red Wings. This is partly due to the fact that the teams have met five times in the seven years that both were included in the Western Conference Playoffs.
