Born April 18, 1963, Conan O’Brien is an American comedian and former television host. He was the host of Late Night with Conan O’Brien from 1993 to 2009 followed by The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien which lasted several months from 2009 to 2010.
Prior to hosting his shows, Conan O’Brien was a writer for comedy series such as Simpsons and Saturday Night Live. He is well-known for his spontaneous and highly active hosting style. His comedy antics in his shows include but are not limited to self-deprecation regarding his hairstyle, height, pale skin and clumsiness, his dramatic expressions, mime, use of awkward responses and various impressions.
The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien ended with a decision from NBC to swap the timeslot of O’Brien’s show with that of Jay Leno’s. The host reached a deal with the network that would see him leave the show with $45 million, $12 million of which goes to his staff.
