Demetria Devonne Lovato, otherwise known as “Demi Lovato,” is a singer, songwriter, and actress, who was born on August 20, 1992 in Dallas, Texas, United States. Lovato is best known for his breakthrough role as Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, a Disney Channel Original Movie.
Lovato is of Irish, Italian, and Mexican ancestry, and her mother used to be a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys, as well as a country recording artist. She got her first break in her acting career when she was chosen to play “Angela,” in the children’s television series called “Barney & Friends.” It was during that time that Lovato met Selena Gomez, who would then turn out to be one of her good friends as well as colleague in Disney Channel.
As a singer, Lovato has released two albums to date, namely “Don’t Forget” in 2008 and “Here We Go Again” in 2009. She also has two Teen Choice awards for Choice TV Breakout Star and Choice Music – Tour.
