About Donny And Marie Osmond

Donny & Marie was an ABC variety show that was active from January 1976 to May 1979. The show starred the siblings Donny and Marie Osmond, and they were given a chance to host the show when Fred Silverman, the ABC-TV President, saw them co-host The Mike Douglas Show for a week.

At the time the show started, Donny & Marie were 18 and 16 years old, respectively, making both the youngest entertainers on television, at the time, to host their very own variety show. The show often consisted of the hosts performing comedy skits, songs, and an ice skating number for their intro. During this time, the most famous song that was performed in the show was ìIím A Little Bit Country, Iím a Little Bit Rock and Roll.î

However, when it was reported that Donny was no longer available in the bachelor market, many of the female viewers stopped watching the show. Later show changes also caused the decline in viewership, which resulted in the show being cancelled and the hosts found other ventures to focus on.

They say that you need to put in 10,000 hours to be an expert at anything. So you can imagine how effortless it appears when this dynamic duo wows an audience. This holiday show is fun,slick, fast moving, engaging..a Christmas Cornucopia of talent. We loved every minute of it. If you get a chance see them in their natural habitat which is being with an audience doing what they are obviously experts in.
