The Green Bay Packers are an American professional American-football team. They are a member of the North Division in the National Football Conference (NFC) of the American Football League (AFL). They are based in Green Bay Wisconsin and are headquartered at Lambeau Field. It is also where home games for the Packers are hosted.

The team was established in 1919. It was formed by George Calhoun and Earl Lambeau. The latter solicited funds for the team uniforms, he was given $500 to spend on uniform and equipment, with the condition that the team be named after the sponsor and thus the “Green Bay Packers” was born.

The Packers started out as an independent team, they would later on join the Western Division of the NFL. And from 1967 to 1969, they were a part of the Central Division in the Western Conference. Today, the team is a part of the North Division of the NFC.

The team has won 12 NFL championships, most recently in 1965. They have also won 2 Super Bowl Championships with the most recent one being in 1996.

Team colors for the packers are dark green and authentic gold. Their logo features a stylized ‘G’ done in white with a background of green and bordered with gold. Team helmets feature the logo.
