In The Heights Tickets

‘In The Heights’ is a musical on Broadway with music and lyrics by Lin Manuel-Miranda who also portrays the lead role and a book by Quiara Alegria Hudes.

This musical started as an off-Broadway hit in February 2007 and was nominated for nine Drama Desk Awards, clinching two wins. ‘In The Heights’ was produced by a group of renowned producers, two of which were responsible for the sensational ‘Rent’ and ‘Avenue Q’. The musical ended its run to make way for its big Broadway debut.

The story embraces the life of people living in Washington Heights, New York’s predominantly Dominican community. The music employed is a playful mix of salsa, hip hop, merengue and more of the Latin beats. With its infectious rhythm, Broadway received ‘In The Heights’ with great aplomb when it debuted on March 2008 at the Richard Rogers Theater, in which it still plays to date.

In the same year, ‘In The Heights’ garnered two major Tony Awards as the Best Musical and Best Score. Producers also released the Broadway cast recording album that won the Grammy’s Best Musical Show Album. The musical is set to hit the road for a national tour scheduled in Fall 2009 until Summer 2010.
