Representing the University of Kentucky, the Kentucky Wildcats is the name used by the 19 varsity teams when they participate in the different athletic events in the NCAA Division 1. The university is also one of the founding members of the Southeastern Conference.
Aside from basketball and football, the Wildcats can be seen playing in competitions in golf, hockey, baseball, gymnastics, softball, cross country sports, track & field, tennis, swimming and cheerleading. The menís basketball team is one of the most distinguished teams in the NCAA league, with seven championship titles under its belt. For the female side, the University of Kentucky cheerleading squad has posted 18 wins in its division championships.
The Kentucky Wildcats spreads its team pride through the three mascots, Wildcat, Scratch and Blue. Its team colors are blue and white. The home stadiums for Kentucky Wildcats are Commonwealth Stadium, Cliff Hagan Stadium, Rupp Arena and the Memorial Coliseum.
