About Lewis Black

Lewis Niles Black is an American author, playwright, actor and a stand-up comedian. He is famous for imitating a mental breakdown or a progressively more angered frenzy that mocks history, politics, religion, trends and cultural phenomena.

Blackís career began in the theater as a playwright. In 1990, he wrote the musical ìThe Czar of Rock and Rollî. After a management changes, he started working as a comedian and looking for bit parts in television and films.

He started his first comedy special on the series ìComedy Central Presentsî in 1998. He also has received a Grammy award for Best Comedy Album for his album ìThe Carnegie Hall Performanceî last February 11, 2007. On 2008, he hosted the Comedy Central television series, ìThe Root of All Evilî.

Black returned to the History Channel to host ìSurviving the Holidays with Lewis Blackî at the end of 2009. He talked about the year-end pressures of Thanksgiving, Channukah, Christmas, and New Year's. Black started on a new tour called "In God We Rustî at 2010 of January.
