Lisa Lampanelli is an insult comic and a Grammy-nominated American stand-up comedian. She is well known for her vulgar and extremely racy approach of comedy that usually involves taboo subjects such as homosexuality and race.
She went to Catholic schools, studied journalism at Syracuse University and finished a graduate program at Harvard. She eventually worked as a copy editor at Popular Mechanics and an assistant at Rolling Stone. She was also the first chief of research for Spy magazine.
She had her break at the 2002 New York Friars' Club roast of Chevy Chase. She took part in the roasts of Jeff Foxworthy, Flavor Flav, William Shatner, Denis Leary and Pamela Anderson. She also served as the Roast master for Larry, the Cable Guy.
On 2008 of November 21, Lampanelli recorded her first one-hour HBO Special at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts at Santa Rosa, California. In addition, Dave Higby who directed her ìDirty Girlî special also directed the ìLisa Lamapanelli: Long live the Queenî special last January 31, 2009.
