The Los Angeles Clippers is a professional basketball team and is a member of the NBA or the National Basketball Association. The team's headquarters is based in Los Angeles, California, United States and plays their home games at the Staples Center. They belong to the Western Conference, Pacific Division.
The Los Angeles Clippers share their home court with other Los Angeles-based sports teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Kings and the Los Angeles Sparks. Since their foundation in 1970, the team has had only six winning seasons, two of which happened when they transferred to Los Angeles.
The Clippers were founded in 1970 under the name Buffalo Braves. They were one of the three NBA franchises that joined the association in the 1970-1971 seasons. The team was then renamed to San Diego Clippers and moved their headquarters in San Diego, California. In 1984, the franchise moved to Los Angeles and was then referred to as the Los Angeles Clippers.
