The Los Angeles Dodgers is a professional baseball team based in Los Angeles, California. The team was established in Brooklyn, New York in 1883 and has undergone several nicknames such as the Brooklyn Robins, Superbas, Grooms and definitively, Dodgers in 1932.
The Brooklyn Dodgers moved to Los Angeles before the baseball season of 1958 and went on to win the National League West Championships two times. The team has also the most National League pennant wins more than any other baseball team in history. The Dodgers also have two Wild Card wins, and ten West Division titles. They currently hold the record for the team that has appeared most times in the World Series.
The team has an aggressively loyal fanbase with more than three million fans attracted in 1978. The team has beaten that record six more times before any other baseball team franchise ever did.
