The Los Angeles Kings is a National Hockey League team based in Los Angeles, California. They are members of the League’s Western Conference in the Pacific Division. The team was founded in February 1966 as an expansion franchise for Los Angeles. Their headquarters is based in Inglewood, California for more than thirty years before moving to the Staples Center.
The Kings have won only a single division title throughout their history. They have failed to get past the first playoff rounds twelve times, advancing past the second round only once in the more than twenty seasons that they qualified for.
Despite this, there are a number of baseball players affiliated with the Kings who have been inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame. Some of these players include Marcel Dionne, Steve Shutt, Billy Smith, Terry Sawchuk, Larry Robinson and several others. Team builders affiliated with the team, Roger Neilson and Jake Milford were also inducted into the Hall of Fame.
