Love, Loss and What I Wore is an off-Broadway musical is a collection of stories by both Delia Ephron and Nora Ephron. The show is based on the book by Ilene Beckerman and features recollections of the Ephronsí friends.
The story is about the Ephron sistersí (and women, in general) life and struggle to constantly look good. Every clothing article featured in the show has its own story to tell and a lesson to share. For instance, there is tale of the black cowboy boots that was also the symbol of being underappreciated in a relationship. There is also a tale about a new bra and the struggle for dignity in the face of trials ñ in this scene, trial comes in the form of breast cancer.
This is not just a show but also a charity event where the audience is invited to bring along gently used purses, accessories, and even business clothing articles for the Dress For Success international non-profit organization that facilitates the distribution of these items to disadvantaged women.
