The Manchester United is the short name for the Manchester United Football Club which is an English professional football club that is also referred to as The Red Devils. The team was founded in 1878 as the Newton Health LYR Football Club as was the works team of a railway corporation at that time. The team then joined The Football league in 1892 and became independent of the rail company.
The team plays their home games at the old Trafford in Stretford, Greater Manchester and has won 18 league titles and a record of 11 Football Association Challenge Cup, which is more commonly referred to as the FA Cup. The team is considered as one of the most successful football clubs in England and are, at the time of writing, the reigning champions of the Premier League and Football League Cup. The club is also one of the most supported teams of the sport in the world.
