The Masters Tournament, simply known as ìThe Mastersî, is a major golf tournament that was created on 1934, and held in Agusta, Georgia, United States. The Masters is held during the first week of April, and is known for being the first of the four major golf championships to take place every year.
Unlike the rest of the major championships, The Masters is held at the same place every year, which is in Georgia. The tournament was started by Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts, and is an invitational tournament, with player entry strictly controlled by the Agusta National Golf Club.
Being one of the four major championships, winning the tournament is an honor for golfers, especially those who are still starting out. There have been a number of known players who have won multiple times at the tournament, and these include Tiger Woods, Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, and Jack Nicklaus.
Through the years the tournament has been active, a number of changes have already been done on the course to improve the playing field. In fact, the set up has been lengthened, and the green been changed.
