Memorial Golf Tournament, or ìMemorial Tournamentî for short, is a golf tournament in the PGA Tour. The tournament was established in 1976 by one of the best golfers in the world, Jack Nicklaus, and is known for being held on a course that was designed by Nicklaus himself. The tournament is held in Dublin, Ohio, at the Muirfield Village Golf Club, which is the hometown of Nicklaus.
The tournament has some interesting traditions and sights, one of which is the yearly honoring of past golfers. For each golfer, there is a plaque that is installed at the clubhouse for guests to see. Another feature is the statue of Nicklaus that depicts the golfer teaching a young child how to golf.
Among the many winners that the tournament had since its creation, Tiger Woods has garnered the most victories to date with his four titles. Other multiple winners at the tournament include Kenny Perry with 3 victories, and Hale Irwin, Tom Watson, Greg Norman, and Jack Nicklaus have two victories each.
