Michael Bolton is a singer and songwriter who is best known for his many chart topping songs that are often soft rock ballads. Born on February 26, 1953, Bolton was not always the soft rock singer that he is currently known for. In fact, he had some history performing hard rock before moving on to soft rock.
Before venturing into a solo career, Bolton was a part of a hard rock band called ìBlackjack.î The said band was able to tour with well known heavy metal artist, Ozzy Osbourne. As a songwriter, Bolton first saw the fruits of his songwriting skills through the hit song ìGloriaî which was performed by Laura Branigan.
As a solo artist, Bolton was able to rise to fame sometime in the late 1980s to the early 1990s, producing songs such as ìWhen a Man Loves a Woman,î ìSaid I Loved YouÖ But I Lied,î ìGo the Distance,î and ìWhiter Shade of Blue.î Due to his success as a solo artist and a songwriter, Bolton received numerous awards as well as his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
