The Milwaukee Bucks is a professional basketball team that plays in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Bucks is currently owned by franchise owner US Senator Herb Kohl.
The Milwaukee Bucks was formed in January 1986 when the Milwaukee Professional Sports and Services, Inc. was awarded a franchise by the NBA. The opening season for the Milwaukee Bucks then was a struggle but in the following season, the Bucks made a historic finish when they acquired Oscar Robertson or the “Big O”. The Bucks finished 66-16 in that season making it the second most wins in NBA history at the time and still the most wins in franchise history.
In 2008, the Bucks celebrated their 40th anniversary as a franchise team in the NBA. The basketball team is now headed by Coach Scott Skiles. In 2010, the Bucks hope to rebuild the team again for the 2009-2010 seasons with the addition of Brandon Jennings and the improvement of Andrew Bogut.
