New York Rangers is the name of a team in the National Hockey League in North America. They play for New York City and calls the Madison Square Garden as home stadium. The Rangers belong to the Atlantic Division of the NHLís Eastern Conference.
The team was part of the group called Original Six, which played for 25 seasons until the 1967 NHL Expansion. This makes the New York Rangers one of the oldest teams in the league, dating back to its inception as an expansion franchise in 1926. Their first-ever Stanley Cup win was in 1927-28 season, giving them the honor as the first NHL franchise team in the US to take the coveted trophy.
