North Carolina State Wolfpack, otherwise known as ìWolfpack,î is a group of intercollegiate teams that represents the North Carolina State University in the NCAA Atlantic Coast Conference. The group is composed of approximately 26 varsity teams that play sports such as football, volleyball, baseball, basketball, swimming, wrestling, and others.
The team is currently being headed by Lee Fowler as their athletics director, and has been fighting against their traditional rival, the North Carolina Tar Heels for several years. The teams make use of various sports facilities both within the university as well as other parts of the area such as the Carter-Finley Stadium for football games, Doak Field for baseball games, and RBC Center for the basketball games.
Like many groups in the NCAA, the Wolfpack has a number of notable athletes such as Kenny Carr, Jerricho Cotchery, Tom gugliotta, Torry Holt, Julius Hodge, and Pablo Mastroeni. The team also won some championship titles in their respective leagues such as the 4 ACC Championships in baseball, 10 ACC Championships for basketball, and 24 Bowl Games in football.
