Notre Dame Fighting Irish Tickets

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish is the group of varsity sports teams with players that are resident students of the University of Notre Dame. The team got its name from the Irish immigrant soldiers that were recorded to have fought in the Civil War. The Notre Dame sports teams are collectively known as the Fighting Irish with several unofficial nicknames such as the Ramblers and the Rovers. Their official colors are blue and gold with a leprechaun for its official mascot.The Notre Dame Fighting Irish is known for the sports team’s propensity to travel the whole country to play several football competitions. The university varsity has had a record of winning several national championships. During the sports season of spring 2008 alone, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish won 25 national championships. 18 of these championships were won by men’s teams, 4 by women’s and 3 were by teams composed of players of both gender. The different sports that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish has teams on include football, men’s and women’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s ice hockey, men’s and women’s fencing, table tennis, lacrosse among many others. The university is also a member in all sports of the Big East Conference except for football.
