The Ottawa Senators is a team of professional ice hockey players that is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The team plays in the National Hockey League, or NHL, and was founded by Bruce Firestone, a real estate developer. The name “Ottawa Senators” have not always pertained to this particular team, as it has been used previously sometime in 1917-1934, and it currently calls Scotiabank Place as its home arena.
The team is currently owned by Eugene Melnyk, and coached by Cory Clouston. Its team colors include Black, Red, White, and Gold, and it has been active since 1992. The team has seen one of its team members, Roger Neilson (coach), inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.
Throughout its years of activity, the team has won 4 division championships and 1 conference championship title. Unfortunately, the team has yet to win a Stanley Cup title in its coming years.
