Phil Lesh & Bob Weir are two of the founding members of The Grateful Dead, an American rock band formed in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1965. The band is famous for its eclectic and unique style that was new during their fledging years. The Grateful Dead music were praised for their fusion of rock, bluegrass, blues, folk, country, jazz, reggae, space rock and psychedelia that made a mark in the history of music.
Phil Lesh played the bass guitar for the band in its 30-year run. When the band disbanded in 1995, Lesh formed a side project called Phil Lesh and Friends and played music that paid homage to The Grateful Dead's musical legacy. Phil and Lesh was considered by most fans as the premier post-Grateful Dead band.
Bob Weir is also a founding member of The Grateful Dead and was the band's singer, songwriter and guitarist. Weir was also associated with a number of other bands including KingFish, Bobby and the Midnites, RatDog, Furthur and The Other Ones.
