Philadelphia Phillies is an American baseball team that is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The team is a member of the Major League Baseball team and is the defending World Series champions in 2008. More commonly referred to as the Phillies, this team is a member of the East Division of the National League of the Major League Baseball.
The Philadelphia Phillies have won a couple of World Series championships – one in 1980 against Kansas City and the other in 2008 against Tampa Bay. The team also won six National League pennants.
