About Poison

Poison is an American band known for its glam metal and hard rock songs. Composed of Bret Michaels, Rikki Rockett, Bobby Dall and C.C. Deville, the band achieved popularity and great success during the late 1980s up to the early 1990s. The band members have become iconic in the MTV era of the 80s and have had worldwide and widespread commercial success. In the time of writing, the band has sold over 25 million records all over the world. 18.5 million of these records were sold in the US alone.

Poison was originally known as Paris and consisted of guitarist Matt Smith, lead vocalist Bret Michaels, drummer Rikki Rockett and bassist Bobby Dall. They changed their name to Poison after watching the movie Spinal Tap and went on to expand their career and record nine albums that were released from 1986 to 2007.

The band celebrated their 20th anniversary on 2006 with a summer tour entitled 20 Years of Rock where they performed with Cinderella and Endeverafter. The tour became one of the most successful musical tours in the United States in 2006 with an audience averaging 10,000 in number every night. To complement the tour, Poison released an anniversary compilation album featuring their biggest hits.
