About Real Madrid

Real Madrid is a professional football club based in Madrid, Spain. Known as the most successful club in Spanish football history and voted as the most successful football club in the 20th century by FIFA, Real Madrid was founded in 1902 and has won a total of 31 La Liga titles and 17 Spanish Cups. The club was a founding member of FIFA. The word ëRealí is Spanish for ëRoyalí and was added to the name of the team in 1920 along with modification of teamís emblem with the addition of the royal crown.

The club started to reach a significant amount of success in the 1950s and by 80s had established itself as one of the best teams in Spain. It makes its home at the Santiago Bernabeau located in downtown Madrid where it has played since 1947. Real Madrid is also known as the worldís richest football club in revenues and is owned by its members, something that sets it apart from other football clubs in Europe.
