Reba McEntire is a female country music artist who was born on March 28, 1955, in a place close to Kiowa, Oklahoma. Her career started when she and her siblings sang at rodeos and radio shows. Aside from being a music artist, McEntire is also a songwriter, actress and record producer.
During a performance at Oklahoma City, McEntire was spotted by another country artist, Red Steagall, and was brought to Nashville, Tennessee. While in Nashville, McEntire was signed by Mercury Records, and by 1977, she was able to release her very first solo album. She then proceeded to release more albums under the said label until 1983.
McEntire has been given a number of nicknames, and one of these include “The Queen of Country” since she has been able to sell over 41 million records in the United States alone, with more than 60 records all over the world. McEntire already has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and has raked in various awards ranging from Grammy Awards, Country Music Association, and American Music Awards.
