Roger Daltrey is the founder and lead singer of one of the seminal British rock bands in history, The Who. Due to his outstanding achievements in music, theater and film encompassing five decades, Daltrey was awarded knighthood in the Order of the British Empire. The initials CBE is attached to his name as a sign of prestige and honor.
Born in March 1, 1944, Daltrey dons many hats in the entertainment industry, being a composer, producer and actor as well. The Who was known for phenomenal hits such as ìMy Generationî, ìWonít Get Fooled Againî and ìWho Are Youî. He also released solo albums, which he continues to this day. Daltrey has appeared extensively in many of BBCís television programs during the 1980s and has dabbled in theater productions as well.
The singer and rock icon is a patron of the Teenage Cancer Trust since 2000. His remarkable fund-raising activity for the cause raised over 1.2 million pounds when he mounted a reunion concert with The Who along with other artists.
