Shen Yun Performing Arts is an American based performing arts company. The company is based from Downtown New York. With their great musical art performances many of their audience buy tickets just to see the entertainment company plays.
In 2006, the entertainment company was formed and their plays were partnered with Falun Gong religious performance and practices. Often, the show is hosted by the Native Falun Dafa Association which resides in New York.
Shen Yun plays depict traditional cultural Chinese song and dance. Seven Shen Yun plays was held at Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington, DC last January 2010.
The play in Washington consisted of 22 vignettes that are identified by gorgeous colorful costumes, amazing operatic singing, and bravura dancing. In addition, Shen Yun illustrated three distinct types of dances that are played in Chinese. The classical, ethnic, and the folk Chinese dances.
Besides dance pieces they also played ìnostalgic counter-melodyî to dances that comes from a live orchestra that uses Chinese and Western Instruments.
