The St. Louis Cardinals is a baseball team playing in Major League Baseball’s Central Division. The team is based in St. Louis, Missouri, and has been known to have a record of 10 World Series championships in the National League.
Often referred to as “The Cardinals,” the team was started by the American Association sometime in 1882. The team started as the “St. Louis Brown Stockings,” before it was changed in 1990 when the team joined the National League. It has been noted that the team has a rather fierce rivalry with the Chicago Cubs, which has started since the 1885 World Series.
Wearing Navy Blue, White, and Cardinal red as the team’s colors, the Cardinals have a total of 8 Central Division titles, 4 AA Pennants, 17 NL Pennants, and 10 World Series titles. The team is owned by William DeWitt, Jr. and Fred Hanser, and managed by Tony La Russa.
