The Tampa Bay Lightning faces a sad history in the NHL with dismal results in the last 10 or so years. Save for their lone Stanley Cup title in 2004, the Lightnings could not account for other successes in their career on the ice.
The nickname Bolts is widely used to refer to the Lightnings, originating from the teamís logo, which is a lightning bolt. This was somehow acknowledged when they used the word in their third alternate jersey. The teamís colors are silver, white, blue and black. Its wacky mascot is a firefly or lightning bug named ThunderBug. Tampa Bay Lightning has one Hall-of-Famer, Denis Savard who was the head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks after retiring from playing in 1997.
