Texas A&M Aggies, or simply Texas Aggies, is a group of varsity sports teams that represent Texas A&M University in the NCAA Big 12 Conference. The teamís nickname ìAggie,î is a term that indicates common land grant schools that are found in many states. The group competes wearing their school colors of white and maroon, and has a pure-bred collie for a mascot, called ìReveille.î
The Aggies is composed of approximately 20 varsity teams that play sports that are accepted in the NCAA such as basketball, softball, golf, tennis, soccer, equestrian, volleyball, football, and baseball. When playing home games, the team makes use of various sports facilities in the area such as Kyle Field for football home games, Olsen Field for baseball games, and Reed Arena for basketball home games.
Although the Aggies play a lot of other schools in a single year, it can be said that the Aggiesí biggest rival are the Texas Longhorns. The desire for each of the school to win against the other school has been very evident, which eventually led to the ìLone Star Showdown.î
