Samuel Timothy “Tim” McGraw is a singer and actor known for his American country songs. Born on May 1, 1967, McGraw is of Italian-American heritage, and was born to a Elizabeth Ann, a waitress, and Franke Edwin McGraw, Jr., a relief pitcher for the N.Y. Mets.
McGraw’s music performance started when he was in college, where he performed and sang in order to get tips – which is also where he learned to play the guitar. Although McGraw swears that his roommates used to hide his guitar because his singing was really bad.
However, records and awards would prove this otherwise since McGraw has a number of hits as well as awards. Some of his well known songs include “I Like It, I Love It,” “Something Like That,” “Indian Outlaw” and “Don’t Take the Girl.” His awards include American Music Awards for Favorite New Country Artist, Grammy Award for Country Vocal Collaboration, and Grammy Award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance.
