The Toronto Blue Jays is a team of professional baseball players who play in the Major League’s Eastern Division. Otherwise known as “the Jays,” the team got its name from the actual Blue Jay bird, which can be seen as the team’s logo on their home uniform.
The Jays were not a part of the original Major League teams, but was able to join the league during its expansion. The team is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and they used to call the Exhibition Stadium as their home ballpark, until they transferred their home games to the SkyDome.
The team is one of three teams that are owned by corporations – the other being the Atlanta Braves and the Seattle Mariners. The team is managed by Cito Gaston, and the President of Baseball Operations in the team is Paul Beeston. Team winnings include 5 division titles, and 2 World Series titles, which they won on 1992 and 1993.
