Trace Adkins is an American country music artist born on January 13, 1962 in Springhill, Louisiana. His father, a mill worker, taught him how to play the guitar at an early age. After graduation from Louisiana Tech University, he worked at an oil rig where an accident took his left pinky finger. To be able to continue playing the guitar, he requested the doctors to re-attach the pinky at a certain angle.

While playing in honky tonk bars in Tennessee, he was discovered by an executive from Capitol Records who offered him a contract with the label. “There’s a Girl in Texas”, his debut single released in 1996, entered top 20 on Billboard’s hot country singles and tracks chart. His debut album – Dreamin’ Out Loud – which was released later that year, contained more chart-toppers.

His next album, titled Big Time, was not as successful with only one single – The Rest of Mine – entering the top 5 chart. The third album, More…, was released in 1999; like the second, it only had one chart-topper song – with the same title as the album, More...

In 2001, he released the album Chrome which actually reached the country album charts’ Top 5. Two albums followed in 2003, a collection of Greatest Hits, then, Comin’ on Strong. Two years after, Songs About Me was released, then, Dangerous Man in 2006.
