USC Trojans is a term used to represent the athletic teams of the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California. The university approves the name for both the male and female teams but the latter also uses another university-approved name, “Women of Troy”. The team has two colors – cardinal and red.

The men won 87 national championships, mostly NCAA titles (74), while the women won 22 national championships, 13 of which are NCAA titles. This brings a total of 109 team championships plus 347 total individual championships. The Trojans hold the record for the highest number of individual NCAA titles for men at 296.

The USC Trojans also shine in the Olympics in that since 1904 up to 2004, 375 individuals have competed to garner 112 gold, 64 silver, and 58 bronze medals. No other university in the whole world has produced such a large number of Olympic athletes and medals. The Trojans actually won a lot of medals that it would have ranked 11th in the world in terms of the number of gold medals earned – had it been a country, that is.

Because of the USC Trojans, the university has many athletic facilities – from swimming pools to golf practice facilities to various ballfields and stadiums for football, tennis, and soccer to courts for basketball and volleyball.
