The Vancouver Canucks is a team of professional ice hockey players who play in the National Hockey League’s Western Conference. The team is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and they call the General Motors Place as their home arena.
It was in 1970 that the Canucks joined the ice hockey league, mainly due to the expansion of the league that also included the Buffalo Sabres. The Canucks, however, was not the first professional team that Vancouver had. The first team was the Vancouver Millionaires, who were able to win the Stanley Cup 5 times.
The team is owned by Canucks Sports and Entertainment and is managed by Mike Gillis. The team is coached by Alain Vigneault and currently led by Roberto Luongo. Blue, silver, green, and white are recognized as the team’s colors, and throughout its years in the league, the team has won 6 division championships with 2 conference championships, but no Stanley Cups so far.
