The Virginia Stage Company is a theater company well known for grand, lavish productions of well loved classics and favorite musicals. It began as the Norfolk Theatre Center in 1968 but changed its name to Virginia Stage Company in 1979. The plays are produced and performed at the historic Wells Theater in Norfolk, Virginia.
Since it was created, the company has produced more than 185 stage plays and musicals for all types of audiences. The company has already produced musicals such as A Christmas Carol, The Secret Garden, Around the World in 80 Days, My Fair Lady, The Last 5 Years, Radio Golf, Lost in the Stars, Man of La Mancha, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Elephant Man, Treasure Island, Blues in the Night, Proof, and many others.
Theatergoers can even enjoy discounted prices for plays by purchasing season passes. The theater company actually stages around 4 or 5 major productions and several minor ones every year.
