About Wicked

Wicked is a musical based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. It has been played in Broadway, West End, and many other theaters all over the country and the rest of the world. It is actually based on L. Frank Baum’s the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The musical debuted on October 30, 2003 on Broadway. Since then, the story has received several Tony Awards (Best Book, Best Musical, Best Orchestration, and Best Leading Actress) and six Drama Desk Awards.

The story happened before Dorothy’s arrival in Kansas and tells the story of the Wicked Witch of the West named Elphaba. The witch’s name was derived from L. Frank Baum’s initials. The story relates Elphaba’s relationship with the Good Witch of the North, Glinda. The plot also shows the whole story in the eyes of the villain – this is developed both in the novel and the musical.

However, the novel’s plot is too complicated for a musical so that Stephen Schwartz collaborated with Winnie Holzman, an Emmy Award-winning writer, to condense the plot.

The musical is well-liked by audiences – in fact, many of the productions are sold out, making the production among the highest-grossing shows not only in theaters but also in tours.

Wicked is a must see...

This was our second time. The show was amazing, the music was fantastic, and the time flew by. We had a chance to meet the cast, and wow! Everyone was so sweet to sign autographs and pose for pictures. This is a don't miss show...

Wicked Tickets bought for Pittsburgh

Just got great Wicked tickets for the show tomorrow in Pittsburgh. This is an amazing show with great..great.. music. Fourth time seeing the show.

Wicked in London

Seeing Wicked in London on Saturday. Can't wait - this will be my 5th time seeing Wicked and my 1st in London. MUSIC IS AMAZING!

Wicked was amazing..

I saw Wicked in San Francisco two months ago and it was amazing. Heading out to New York next month and I have already bought tickets. The music and visual stimulation are simply brilliant. This might be my favorite musical..

Wicked in London Rocked

I recently saw Wicked in London at the Apollo Victoria theater and what a performance. The music was so amazing and the acting of course was brilliant.

worth watching it !! 5 star

Wicked tells the story of the Witches of Oz from L. Frank classic, The famous Wizard of Oz. We know what happened to Dorothy, but what about the other side of the coin? How did the Wicked Witch become so much wicked? Was she born that way? Was she just misunderstood? worth watching it, I gave it 5 star.
