Wisconsin Badgers are a group of athletes representing the University of Wisconsin-Madison. The group is composed of 23 teams that play in various sports such as football, baseball, swimming, basketball, tennis, ice hockey, rowing, track and field, golf, softball, and volleyball. These teams compete in the NCAA Division I under the Big Ten Conference, and are directed by Barry Alvarez, who used to be the head coach of the football team.
The Badgers have cardinal and white team colors, and are cheered on mainly by their school mascot called ìBuckingham U. Badger,î or ìBucky Badgerî for short. Among the Big Ten Conference teams, the Badgers have been known to have one of the most successful football teams especially around the 1990s. In fact, the team has won three Big Ten Championship titles, as well as three Rose Bowl titles.
Some of the well known former Badgers who played in the NBA include Michael Finley, Marcus Landry, Devin Harris, and Alando Tucker.
