Cordozar Calvin Broadus, better known as ìSnoop Dogg,î is a multi-awarded rapper, actor, and record producer. Snoop (short for ìSnoop Doggî) was born on October 20, 1971 in Long Beach, California, United States, and is best known for being one of Dr. Dreís most successful protÈgÈs. While in high school, Snoop was also a Crip gang member, and just shortly after he graduated, he already had a brush-in with the law.
Snoopís debut album, ìDoggystyle,î became a huge success, mainly because of his exposure by being featured in Dr. Dreís solo album ìThe Chronic.î With the help of Dr. Dre and Death Row Records, Snoop was able to get much exposure that was also a key in his success. His acting career also helped him increase his visibility, which led to the release of his tenth album in 2009.
Numerous people have thought at one point that Snoop wrote his own songs ñ but Snoop was not exactly the typical songwriter as in most cases, he would simply rap his recorded songs freestyle.
