The Blue Man Group refers to a creative organization founded by Phil Stanton, Chris Wink, and Matt Goldman. The organization focuses on producing theatrical shows and concerts that offer different features including music, comedy and multimedia. The organization also records music and scores for film and television use as well as appears in television and other media presentations. All of the organization’s productions star a trio of Blue Men performers.
Blue Men performers are mute performers that appear in black clothing and blue grease paint over latex bald caps. They play a mixture of idiosyncratic instruments, often percussive. Blue Men performers can be of either gender but has to meet specific physical requirements, specific performing talents, and personality traits. Blue Man Group performances usually features the following themes including science and technology; information overload and information pollution; innocence; self-conscious and naïve; outsider; rooftops.

Blue Man Group was discovered by the Artistic Director of The CLUB and commissioned the group to create a full length show. The result was a show entitled “Tubes” that met great success and even paved the way for the show to be presented off-Broadway. “Tubes” was awarded an Obie Award and a Lucille Lortel Award. The group has released a number of albums including “Audio” and “The Complex”. The group has also started an International Blue Man Theatrical Tour that began in Stuttgart. The Blue Man Group has appeared many times in advertising, TV guest appearances, concert guest appearances, movies and more.
