Cirque Du Soleil ñ Saltimbanco is a touring show of Cirque du Soleil productions that has been considered as its oldest major show on tour that has remained active despite all its years of activity. The show premiered in 1992 under a large circus tent which was called the ìGrand Chapiteau.î The show focuses on the celebration of life, which gives hope to the audience with the intention of being the antidote to many of the despair and negativity of the 20th Century.
The original Saltimbanco ran for over 10 years, temporarily ending in 2006, until it made a comeback in 2007. The last grand performance of the show in its original form was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, while recent shows have shorter stops in every city where it shows up.
Some of the acts featured in the show include Adagio, Juggling, Duo Trapeze, Bungee, Boleadoras, Hand to Hand, Chinese Poles, and the Russian Swing.
